Consent Terms & Privacy Policy

1. Baseline Profiling

If you opt in, you will be asked for optional demographic information (age band, sex, first language, country, year of study, prior exposure to the subject, and discipline). You may decline any or all of these questions. Some answers may be pre-filled from your Moodle profile — you can edit or remove them. Demographic answers help researchers understand who the study reached. They will never be used by the system to decide what to show you, recommend, or measure you against (DEC-052 governance).

You will also complete a short self-regulation questionnaire (via the MSLQ), which is used to power your personal dashboard.

2. Privacy Requirements

We adhere to strict minimal data collection principles:

• Pseudonymization: Your data is anonymized at the point of sync. The SRL Advisor database does not store Personally Identifiable Information (PII) like your real name or email address.
• Consent: You have the right to withdraw at any time. If you withdraw, your data will be permanently deleted from our analysis pool.
• GDPR Compliance: This study is fully compliant with GDPR regulations and local Institutional Ethics Board requirements.

3. Data Usage

Your trace events (e.g., how long you study, which strategies you pick) are used solely to model correlations with academic performance and to power your personal dashboard. It will never be sold or used for commercial purposes.
